Amidst a Case of Bribery and Financial Inducement in connection with the Selection of a new Awujale and Paramount ruler of Ijebu Land, the Olori Ebi of Fusengbuwa Agunsebi Ile Nla of Ijebu Ode, Otunba Oladokun Ajidagba has filed a law suit against the Nigeria Police Force for the enforcement of his fundamental human rights.
Following a recent police invitation, Chief Ajidagba moved to clarify his specific role within the royal structure and filing a fundamental rights enforcement suit against the Nigerian police force.
Speaking to newsmen following the filing of his lawsuit at the high court of justice Ogun State in the Ijebu ode Judicial Division, he addressed the allegations that led to his invitation by the police. He asserted that his involvement in family matters has been misinterpreted by detractors saying he is not a kingmaker but Olori Ebi of Fusengbuwa ile Nla Agunsebi Ijebu ode.
He recalled that in a Punch publication Nine Kingmakers was summoned over bribery allegations by police but to his suprise, the police invitation was extended to him as he is not a kingmaker
“ I am not a kingmaker and am not acting as one because I am Olori Ebi whose role is focused on internal administration, lineage preservation, and family unity while kingmaker is a distinct traditional office vested with legal authority to elect or install a monarch.
The invitation by this police is intimidation, threat to arrest and infringement on my fundamental rights.” He said.
He also recalled that the Nigerian Police Force stormed his residence at molipa with heavy security men with the intention to harass, arrest and detain him for no just cause.
He further revealed that a filed suit Number M/28/2026 at High Court of Justice seeks to restrain the police from arresting or Detaining him, citing a breach of his fundamental human rights.
