The Molipa kingdom will witness an historic moment on Tuesday, November 25, as residents, dignitaries and traditional rulers gather to celebrate the Iwuye ceremony of the newly-installed Second Lipa of Molipa kingdom, Alaiyeluwa Oba Adeyemi Abiodun Odubena,Fesogbadebo 1, Lipa of Molipa kingdom.
The event will mark the public unveiling and formal outing of the monarch, a tradition considered the climax of all rites.
In a release by the Lipa of Molipa kingdom recounted the journey to his ascension, describing it as a divinely orchestrated process that began with his unanimous nomination by the sons and daughters of Molipa and the subsequent approval of the late Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Sikiru Kayode Adetona, GCON, Ogbagba II.
According to him, the process officially commenced on February 27, 2024, when the late Awujale accepted his candidacy during a presentation attended by several prominent figures, including Ogun State Commissioner for Transportation, Prince Gbenga Dairo, who facilitated the process; Aare Safiu Kazeem, Hon. Segun Kaka, member of the Ogun State House of Assembly representing Ifelodun constituency; and Dr. Sefiu Olawale Sanusi, Secretary of the Molipa Regent-in-Council.
Lipa described the prayers he received from the Awujale and all Ijebu Obas on September 5, 2024, as pivotal, noting that they culminated in his official presentation with the staff of office on July 13, 2025.
“This journey has been one of uncommon favour from the Almighty,” he said, expressing gratitude for what he described as the fulfilment of destiny. “Celebrating today’s Iwuye ceremony with my people is truly the right step in the right direction.”
He thanked the community for their overwhelming support and dignified presence, praying that God continues to uplift Molipa kingdom and its people.
Residents, cultural groups, and invited guests trooped out in colourful attire to honour the new monarch as festivities, music and dance filled the streets of Molipa.
